Milan Fashion Week and Milan Design Week both unfold here – which makes the possibility a visit will coincide with a global convergence of the design community highly likely, making it one of the few cities that can truly claim Fashion and Design are part of its’ cultural and civic DNA
This year, marks the 20th Anniversary of the much lauded event from Interni Magazine, ‘House in Motion’, the event brings together a series of experimental and interactive installations of architecture and design.
It’s a collaboration between highly acclaimed international designers, high profile companies as well as educational institutions and startups.

The Design of Death – Design beyond Death
Held on Black Friday, 13th April, 2018 ( non random date !!) just before the Salone 2018 officially kicked off, Rosalba Piccinni, the singer-songwriter, florist and founder of the Milanese bistro Potafiori, presented her latest project Potalove, a real funeral collection, with an unexpected and unconventional event: a Funeral Party.
This year la Rinascente supported the Georgian Vajiko Chachkhiani who was selected to represent his home country at the 2017 Biennale in Venice, to create two site-specific projects : – ” Under the Midday Sun” windows installation and a video titled “Cotton Candy “
Spanish company Nagami’s debut Salone exhibition, titled ‘Brave New World: Design in the New Age of Technology’ showcased four works of 3D-printed furniture, created in collaboration with three cuttting edge Design studios – Zaha Hadid / Ross Lovegrove / Daniel Widrig
Masterly – The Dutch in Milano is an annual gathering of Dutch designers, artisan producers and design agencies at the fascinating Palazzo Turati, this event provides a one-of-a-kind stage drawing an increasing number of visitors every year.
During the 2018 Milan Design Week Paola Lenti again presented her exhibition “ Elementi ” ( Elements ), standing out as if they were theatrical scenarios.
