For the 2019 Fuorisalone, Gaetano Pesce’s Maestà Soffrente ( suffering majesty ) soars 8 meters high in Milan’s Piazza Duomo.
The work, depicts a female body impaled by hundreds of arrows, represents a metaphor for violence against women has been situated in prime position in front of the city’s famous cathedral, and will be seen by hundreds of thousands of city workers and visitors from all around the globe.
