TAR Conversations at MOST @ Salone Milan 2012

The first edition of “TAR Conversations” was held in the auditorium inside the bigger project MOST – the new and important destination instigated by Tom Dixon in a creative partnership with Martina Mondadori, which turned the Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) in Milan into an ambitious environment for innovation and culture.

Martina Mondadori and TAR Magazine presented TAR Conversations – a lecture and seminar programme held throughout the Salone week – in the impressive auditorium of MOST .

Tar Conversations – were a week of encounters and conversations held with illustrious opinion leaders from across the globe, covering several topics –  “creativity, culture and entertainment ”

Every conversation had a duration of approx 40-45 minutes.

“This is for me a way in order to honor my city and to accommodate international talents during the Salone del Mobili” said Martina Mondadori

Milan has long been the acknowledged “Centre of Design” and within Milan the Museum of Science and Technology (MOST) is an historical symbol of the city. A new and important destination instigated by British designer Tom Dixon turned the National Museum of Science and Technology, Milan into an ambitious environment for innovation and culture.

“In a fit of spontaneous madness we decided that the world’s most important meeting place for global design obsessives needed a new epicentre, a space for quiet contemplation or chaotic energy – a platform for the exchange of big ideas. So we called Ambra and Martina and cooked up the idea to share one of the best kept secrets in Milan – the National Museum of Science and Technology, where Leonardo da Vinci’s air screw jostles for space alongside a submarine in a 16th century monastery. We have created a place where we can demonstrate the new democratisation and hyperactive innovation of technology in art, food, fashion, manufacturing and communication,” said Tom Dixon

The National Museum of Science and Technology has never been used in this way before. It certainly became a very vibrant meeting point for those coming to Milan in April.
