At via Savona 56, the 1,700 square mtr exhibition hall and 160 lamps sparkling together – were not the only surprising things prepared by Moooi
Transforming the elegant interior of Via Savone into an immersive design experience, the Moooi show featured new works by familiar faces, including Bertjan Pot, Joost van Bleiswijk, Maarten Baas, and Luca Nichetto, and newcomers, Noortje van Eekelen, Rick Tegelaar, Edward van Vliet and Kit Miles.
The Dutch furniture brand showcased a luxury maze of creative interiors which “have all their own functional appearance reflecting our ideas for hotels, restaurant, lobbies, offices, homes and bars” explained Moooi co-founder and president Marcel Wanders.
A long corridor distributed the spaces that were enriched with romantic bars, beauty salons, restaurants and lounge, in the name of a luxury lifestyle, nice and inalienably beautiful.
Each opened one of the fantastic imagery of the hotel rooms used to present new objects
At the end of the exhibition a dark lounge bar hosted a a giant chandelier composed of 161 lamps from previous collections glowing together
Levon Biss – Microsculpture series
Continuing the group’s collaboration with celebrated photographers, collections were counterpointed by the colourful and almost surreal photographic details of Levon Biss’’ high-magnification insect portraits.
The ‘Microsculpture’ series was edited from the Oxford University Museum of Natural History collection, providing a fascinatingly and very opulent interior backdrop.
“Biss provides the viewer a unique opportunity to study and appreciate this hidden world of beauty. ‘The images use a delicate and odd language that reflects a life extraordinary” …….. Marcel Wanders
