During 2015 Milan Design Week in Milan (14th-19th April 2015), Paola Lenti presented her new rug / carpet collections at the Chiostri della Società Umanitaria

Going beyond colour to discover the discreet, invisible vein that gives new form and concreteness to the creative gesture, which thrives on interweavings, balances and vibrations that unexpectedly lead to the perfection of the finished object.

The all-enveloping weave of the colours creates reflections that accentuate the harmony of the forms in a play of chromatic modulations.

“Going beyond” is the true hallmark of Paola Lenti’s company, the life force that makes her constantly seek beauty that is never banal, never repetitive but emerges from experimentation, from keenly observing other artistic forms and different skills that express original codes, styles and forms.

“Going beyond colour” in order not to stand still, in order to go beyond the limit established by the ordinary, in order to capture even the flickering light of the fireflies that often eludes us.

The original fabrics and technological sophistication of the materials in the collection of furniture and rugs are the result of this line of research, of this way of thinking aimed at bringing to the surface the sound and harmony of different voices.

Outdoor Use

The new Paola Lenti Tappetti /  rugs in the 2015 outdoor collection are made by hand with Paola Lenti’s signature materials.

Bisanzio

Bisanzio by CRS Paola Lenti, are created by hand shaping Rope cords; the modules that compose Bisanzio are sewn together according to a precise and geometrical orthogonal pattern;

Quadrifoglio

Quadrifoglio, by Alessandra Comi, is a modular rug produced with units made of Rope cord and assembled in an alternated sequence

Ellissi

Ellissi, by CRS Paola Lenti, are created by hand shaping Rope cords; the modules composing Ellissi are joined with total freedom and flexibility of pattern.

Mutazioni

Mutazioni, design by Renato J. Morganti, is a new hand tufted rug decorated with parallel lines created with dense and regular bouclé stitches in contrasting colours.

In addition, Paola Lenti reinterprets and refreshes some classics in the collection.

Zoe Arc

Zoe Arcs introduces a series of round rugs made by sewing Rope cords in different colours in a spiral-like pattern, to obtain a unique décor.

Air

Air is now proposed with background and braids in different colours;

Air is a hand tafted rug.

The texture consists of bouclé stitches executed with a flat Rope braid which is tufted to the backing at two different heights. The backing is synthetic and always black.

High Tech rugs are produced with Aquatech and Rope, Paola Lenti signature yarns which provide for high performance in outdoor environments. Aquatech and Rope are resistant to the atmospheric elements and their colours offer a high fastness to sunlight, sea and swimming pool water.

High Tech rugs are available in several colours coordinated to the upholstery fabrics of Paola Lenti seating furniture.

Long lasting and easy to maintain, these rugs represent a valid alternative also for indoor spaces, both residential and contract.

Echo

The new versions of Echo are presented in in edited mélange colours and new sequences, created with alternating braids, woven strips and cords, all in the same yarn, which create intricate and surprising chromatic vibrations.

Composition: 100% polyolefine

The strips used to produce Echo rug are produced weaving together Rope cords ( Paola Lentis’ signature yarn ) and braids mixing different colours in pre-determoned combinations.

Ray

The new versions of Ray are this year presented in inedited mélange colours and new sequences, created with alternating braids, woven strips and cords, all in the same yarn, which create intricate and surprising chromatic vibrations.

The Ray rug is produced with Rope braids which are available both in one solid colour and in two colours combinations.

Each braid’s extremities are finished with a ribbon in the same material.

The braids are sewn together lengthwise to create the rug in the desired dimension.

The width of the braids may vary between cm 16 and cm 18; as a consequence, the dimension of the short side will often vary.

The textile structure of this rug is free. An intense stepping may cause a variation of the rug’s dimension.

Only one colour or combination of colours can be chosen.

Samo

The Samo High Tech rug for indoor and outdoor use is created with silicone profiles covered with Aquatech.

The profiles are finished with a fringe and are then sewn together in a variable number to create the rug in the desired size and the irregular shape and the soft surface are due to the elasticity of silicone and are the featuring characteristics of the Samo rug.

The Samo rug can be produced either in one solid colour or in the abaca-grigio colour combination

Navajo

This modular rug is produced by sewing together lengthwise a variable number of braids.

The extremities of each braid are finished with a fringe which is always featured on the short side of the rug.

The braids are all in the same mélange colour but feature different patterns which are repeated on the rug surface following a pre-determined scheme.

Only one mélange colour can be chosen.

Zoe

The Zoe rug is produced with a winded up round wool cord in solid colours.

The rug is available in three versions: spiral-like modules with a diameter of around cm.30, which are sewn together in order to obtain a non-orthogonal geometric sequence; spiral-like modules of cm.33 orthogonally sewn together and completed, in the spaces between the modules, by designs in the same material; a single spiral which can reach a maximum diameter of cm.300 or a square form of cm.240 x 240.

Based on increments of the module size, custom dimensions are possible up to a maximum of 7 square meters.

Only one colour can be chosen for the first and the third versions, two for the second.

Crochet

Crochet hand woven rugs are available in 100% New Zealand wool for indoors or in nylon Rope 04 for outdoor use.

Two patterns available – flowers &leaves or circles &flowers. Variety of colours from the collection.

Optional polyester net backing also available for high-traffic areas.

Siepe

The Siepe rug has a handmade embroidery.

The embroidery is executed with a flat braid in solid colour or a two-colours combination on a support net, which is the backing of the rug and is available in sand or basalto colour.

The rug can be also produced with only one embroidery pattern out of the two featured by this model; it can also be divided into sections of different dimensions.

The handwork and the preciousness of the designs leads Paola Lenti to advise against the use of Siepe in high traffic areas.

High Tech – Natural Time

Time is a loom woven rug.

The surface is created with flat braids in Rope yarn in different colours.

The border is produced with a flat braid in Rope yarn in one of the colours chosen for the rug.

The same weave of the rug Time is reproduced on the outdoor fabric Live, allowing for the creation of new colour combinations or contrasts between seating and rugs.

The textile structure of this rug is free. An intense stepping may cause a variation of the rug’s dimension.

The handwork leads Paola Lenti to advise against the use of Time in high traffic areas.

Up to three colours can be chosen.

Marea

The Marea High Tech modular rug for indoor and outdoor use is created with Aquatech braids shaped like waves.

The braids are finished with a fringe and are then sewn together in a variable number to create the rug in the desired size

Cosmo

The elements composing the surface of the rug are completely hand made with a one or two-colours Rope cord.

The composing elements feature different dimensions and production techniques: some are created by sewing the cord in a spiral-like pattern, others are shaped to form round decorated modules.

The elements are then sewn together with a yarn in the same colour of the cord.

Felt – Grid

The Grid rug is available only in a double layer of felt.

The rug’s surface is quilted with Punto Matelassé, which enables each side of the rug to be produced with a different colour stitching.

For this reason, Grid rug can be considered reversible, even with finishing differences between the upper and the lower layer of felt.

The stitching creates cm. 10 x 10 squares.

The border features Punto Cavallo.

The appearance of the border stitching is different on the two layers.

Felt – Quadri

The Quadri rug is created using the “Punto Cavallo” stitch. It is designed with felt squares that are available in three different dimensions.

The rug consist in a composition of one size and one colour units.

Felt Fashion

The fashion rug is created with the “Punto Cordonetto” stitch.

The design is created by combining felt in different colours. The larger strips are of differing dimensions and colours and the smaller strips are the same dimensions and colours.

The Fashion rug is available in either a single or a double layer of felt.

The rug’s surface consists of felt strips in different colours and widths sewn together with Punto Cordonetto embroidery; they defines the decorative pattern of the rug.

The border features Punto Pettine. The number of strips varies according to the rug’s dimensions.
