Jaime Hayon is definitely aware of the fact that good design creates emotions.
Seven years after their very first collaboration with BD Design for the ‘Showtime’ collection, the Spanish designer has now launched a new collection under the name ‘Gardenias’ during Milan Design Week 2013.
The designer’s love of what he does is perhaps best exemplified in the terracotta vases which complete the Gardenia collection. Simple and elegant, they look like they have leapt out of a child’s drawing thereby transforming an archetypical vase into something original and utterly charming.
A leader in the emerging European style, flamboyant and humorous, Hayon continues to be one of the most celebrated Spanish designers, recognisable from his visual language which tactfully oscillates between artistic expression and product design.

“Designers tend to take themselves a bit too seriously. I have a lot of fun of doing what I do. And I think that is evident in my work”.
