Emma Elizabeth shares the exhibition love at Salone del Mobile 2011.
She starts her DesignVlog this year with a tour around Zona Tortona. Recently there have been some major changes in the management structure of the Zona Tortona organisers as well as the emergence and rapid growth in the Ventura Lambrate District as an alternative design destination for the Design Week activities.
Despite these developments some of design’s biggest names such as Tom Dixon, Moooi and the Superstudio(s) assortment remain committed the Zona Tortona ethos.
Emma has her diamond rug showing at “The Other Hemisphere” exhibition – so does a little poster(-ing), with help from Costas Voyatzis ( Yatzer ) along the way ….
About Emma Elizabeth
Emma Elizabeth lives and breathes her self-created ethos “ design is nothing without style, & style is nothing without design”,
Emma Elizabeth is a designer that is passionate about the fusion of art direction, design, styling and creative conceptualization.
Emma Elizabeth Designs first featured at Zona Tortona during Salone del Mobile in 2006. However it was when Emma Elizabeth was invited to exhibit her collection SLIZED at Salone 2010, that she found that she was desperate to find a platform to share her experiences with others that were not able to be there.
She knew that it wa s a unique and amazing opportunity to see the exhibition spaces and designs, have conversations with designers, attend the parties and immerse oneself in the atmosphere that makes up one of the world’s most exciting design forums ….. and so she created thedesignvlog.com and began her globe trotting into the international design circuit!
Emma Elizabeth is based in Sydney with her company Emma Elizabeth Designs, however thedesignvlog.com now takes her to all the major design forums on the design calendar – including (amongst others) Maison & Objet, London Design Festival, Tokyo Designers Week, Design Basel Miami , Salone del Mobile………etc……
Recent incredible moments for Emma Elizabeth include:- being selected by Marc Newson as one of the top 10 designers for SOYA two years running; showcasing her furniture range at the Hidden Heroes exhibition at Milan 2010 (sponsored by MOOOI and FRAME mag); 1 of 5 finalists in Peroni Young Designer of the year awards & selected as a finalist for the InStyle magazine and Audi ‘Women of Style’ Design Scholarship award.
