Designer Harry Allen employs his signature sense of whimsy in this crystal bank for Steuben.

I just wanted to make a cute bank, so I looked at many glass piggy banks. Most of them are very static, and not very pig-like at all.

I decided to milk all of the piggyness I could out of the beautiful Steuben glass. Dollops for ears, lumps for the rump, and a twist for a tail, and I set out to find a new gesture. My Basset Hounds inspired the gesture, they have the same basic proportions. I sat him down, and gave him a big mouth.

He doesn’t have a traditional coin slot, he’s just hungry for your money.
